Zanzibar

When most people think of Zanzibar, they probably think of white beaches, blue seas, and blue skies. But there's more to discover than just a beach paradise.
Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous country of Tanzania, consisting of two main islands: Unguja (often referred to as Zanzibar) and Pemba. The capital is Zanzibar City, home to the historic district of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous singer Freddie Mercury of the band Queen also originated from here. Zanzibar is known for its beautiful beaches, rich culture and history, and the spice trade, which is why it is also called the "Spice Island."
Furthermore, on the main island of Unguja, you can discover the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, also known as Jozani Forest, the only national park in Zanzibar. It is famous for its diverse flora and fauna, including the rare Kirk's Red Colobus, which is found only in Zanzibar. The park is also home to Sykes' monkeys, bush babies, and a variety of bird species. Extensive mangrove forests, which play an important role in the ecological balance of the region, are also part of the national park.
